The Manhood Of Hot Sauce

Using hot sauce to reprimand bad behavior is considered corporal punishment, I've been told. Personally, I think it's way less brutal than say - choking, which is what I'd really like to do sometimes. Why you little...

I've threatened to use hot sauce to rectify bad behavior because it worked. It's really more psychological - I didn't actually have to dispense it. All I had to do was put a bottle of Tabasco on the table and that shut them up real quick. Sometimes I forgot and put it on the table for dinner and they'd cry and ask what they did to deserve it. Oops! Wrong trigger.

Eventually, I knew the fear factor would wear off once they tasted it for themselves - and liked it. Now, they have awakened their taste buds with Buffalo wings and recently graduated from mild to hot.

Look close enough, you can see the vapors
So I guess this means we can include the boys in our quest of finding The Perfect Buffalo Wings.

Congratulations, men!

Of course, this also means that slamming a bottle of Tabasco on the table is probably not going to work anymore...wonder how effective coarse toilet paper will be?

  1. Mikaela sniffs anything that looks suspiciously "hot and spicy" on a plate, and, Ayana Rhys likes it hot, so I think I have to come up with a different smart trigger like yours.
Samu's about to cry, I think, poor baby. Suki's very brave! Very courageous boys! Clap.clap. :)

    1. Yes - it's a cultural thing. Perhaps you can threaten with a McFlurry McDonald's shake? It's DISGUSTING!

  2. Maybe you need to start slamming lemons on the table. That's way worse than tabasco.

    1. Slam lemons, excellent. Then make them play the trumpet while I squeeze out the juice.

  3. I suggest hooks hanging from the ceiling, threatening to hand them from their thumbs. Allegedl this should work. I love that you're filling your "no kids" time with blogging. BRAVO NAMZI!!!!!

    1. Thanks for noticing! And for the suggestion - although, my boys might find hanging from their thumbs strangely exciting.

  5. Hahaha try soap! Oh no that's what my mother used to threat us with when we were little. The hot sauce or tobasco won't work with my boy, he eat with hot chili sauce lol.

    1. Actually, I have tried soap but it's kind of hard to prove your point holding a wet bar of Irish Spring. Of course, your culture is practically indigenous to spicy stuff - oddly enough, it's the Japanese in them that makes them intolerable.

  6. Anything with actual FLAVOR in it is too spicy for Lily. She likes her food bland with a side of bland. She might or might not get it from her mama. Oops. So I could slam hot sauce, Irish Spring, or a freakin' pickle on the table...wouldn't matter which one...it's aaaaall spicy.
    And, yes, McFlurrys are nasty!

    1. Somehow, I don't see you needing to curb Lily's misbehavior as drastically as Zuki-Samu's (yes, they are one name to me now). But if you ever do come to NYC, you MUST build up some flavor tolerance. If anything, for the Cosmos at Four Season's. Yummy.
